Sirius Translator, Graphics Designer, Podcast Host
Shafayet Rahman spends his days crossing between worlds, sometimes in the labs of civil engineering and sometimes in the starlit fields of Bangladesh. He is the Deputy National Outreach Coordinator of the IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach in Bangladesh, where he has helped design campaigns like Cosmic Quest and Name a Quasi-Moon, organized international workshops, wandered in Nepal with the IAU-OAE to learn astronomy education, and searched for dark skies across continents. At CUET, he is an aspiring civil engineer who tinkers with simulations of bridges and base isolators, while outside class he builds GreenVista, a youth-led climate-tech startup that works on flood resilience using AI and IoT. His work has taken him from roundtable discussions on climate policy to workshops on general relativity, and from coding galaxy rotation curves to running astronomy camps for schoolkids. He likes to think of himself as a translator, between science and society, between sky and street, between resilience and imagination.
